Welcome to IAESTE IRAN

The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) was founded in 1948 at Imperial College, London. Since 1948, the association has grown to include more than 80 countries world-wide and has exchanged in excess of 300,000 students. This means that yearly IAESTE exchanges around 6000 students playing a key role in the development of technical undergraduates able to make their mark in a global economy. IAESTE is currently a worldwide organization with 86 members in 84 countries. The association operates an exchange program for the benefit of students, academic institutions, industrial and other organizations offering internship. IAEIAESTE Iran, which is a branch of IAESTE at the University of Tehran in Iran, was first established in 1965 by the ministry of science.

Aims of IAESTE

IAESTE's motto is "Students, technology & cultural understanding" and IAESTE's aims are:

-To provide students in higher education with technical experience relevant to their studies
-To offer employers well-qualified and motivated trainees
-To be a source of cultural enrichment for trainees and their host communities

IAESTE operates irrespective of race, color, sex or creed.

IAESTE was first established at the University of Tehran in 1965. IAESTE activities in Iran continued until 1978 and later, in 2002, the faculty of Engineering at the University of Tehran applied for a membership as a co-operating institute which was accepted on June 2002 in Advisory Committee. Since then, the executive committee started its activities and during the first year we had 20 offers which were exchanged with different countries and as a result 13 outgoings and 3 incomings passed internships in. In January 2005 Iran became an associate member. 4 years later, in 2009, after so much improvement in the whole function of the NC, IAESTE Iran's application was accepted and it became a full member. Each year the number of our offers was increased and we are proud that during the previous years we have been the representative of Iran with more 100 offers annually and a number of 70 exchanges each year.  Iran is at the moment one of the active members of IAESTE.
